Well, this was certainly one interesting meeting, October 2024, in Samoa for the Commonwealth Judges of Government meeting. Eight interesting lodgers, The Royal Bengal Tiger, Asian Elephant, Hedgehog, Snowy Owl, Ganges River Dolphin, Snow Leopard, Panda and Asian Turtle. Every critter came in suits! As the Judges were chattering and waiting for the special guests to land. And, the doors flung opened to show, the animals stroll to their places. The turtle was the shortest one among them all. So the tiger helped the turtle to get on its high stool. It’s oddly nice seeing predators and preys getting along with each other. The Judges were tangled.
The tiger let out a roar but cut himself off to clear his throat, like it was a gaffe, and opened his mouth ‘‘Don’t fear me humans, it’s I, the king of Sundarban. Today we’ll speak up about our extinction. As it becomes a stern issue of our eco-system.’’ The Judges of the meeting were stunned! They didn’t expect for the tiger to speak! The elephant spoke in her motherly voice. ‘‘It seems that the Judges are truly shivered, they look like they’ve never seen talking animals!’’ She teased.
The Snow Leopard only has 100 or less of them left, yet one is right there in the meeting with them. ‘‘We all come from different countries.’’ The tiger said in his gruff voice. ‘‘Like my advisor, the elephant she’s come from South Africa. Today I’m here with these animals to talk about our annihilation and to look up to you humans, to give us safety in our homeland.’’ The tiger backed away from his mic, and then let the Judges state. The Judges reluctantly spoke, ‘‘W-wow, we never knew you animals were going extinct too, It’s such a disgrace your countries aren’t giving enough upkeep to you animals.’’
The Marine Turtle from Fiji spoke up, ‘‘my beach, my home is being jam-packed with trash and garbage, my family has to interchange from one place to another in the ocean repeatedly. And worst of all! I lost my friend, a crab, because she was strangled by a net…’’ The turtle mumbled sadly, and a lot of animals felt sympathy towards their friends since they also have lost a loved one, because of the extinction, the Snow Leopard, patted his back to comfort him. The Panda from Australia spoke, ‘‘I disperse seeds and act as a natural fertilizer, but humans seem to misunderstand and treat me as some…Plushy.’’ The tiger apprehends how it feels being misunderstood. It just felt so sad seeing most of his friends in such misery. He knows all of them are meant to be enemies but… He can’t help understanding them. The Hedgehog spoke, ‘‘People keep eating me without no reason! And it’s stupid’’ The Snowy Owl’s fur puffed up. ‘‘Whoa, easy little man, but there is no reason to lose it over inoperable things.’’ The Snowy Owl said. Trying to calm down the Hedgehog. ‘‘I regulate rodent inhabitants, and lemmings. And the humans just seem to not want to understand that small animals make changes too!’’ He said. The Snow Leopard spoke ‘‘Oh well, humans aren’t very caring except some.’’ She grumbled, ‘‘Might as well go extinct.’’
The elephant chuckled, ‘‘Sassy now? Come on! You’re the top predator in your environment and you balance the eco-system! Isn’t that cool and an essential role?’’ The Snow Leopard, sighed ‘‘you’re right…’’ The tiger looked at the Dolphin and said, ‘‘will you not talk?’’ The Dolphin just says in response, ‘‘I have the identical problem as my pal, turtle.’’ As the animals kept chattering, the tiger grasped that their extinctions were all related to climate change. His advisor is concerned. ‘‘Something wrong?’’ ‘‘No, what our extinction is interconnected to is bad.’’ The tiger said, ‘‘Well, what is it?’’ All the animals said ‘‘Climate change.’’ The tiger alleged, ‘‘Hmm… now that I think about it…It’s true’’ The Snowy Owl mumbled. ‘‘Well, that is why we’re here in Samoa,’’ The tiger said, eyeing at the Judges. ‘‘Can you help us?’’ One of the Judges nodded. ‘‘Yes, we’ve already made laws to shield you, and we’ll be happier to save you all from extinction. And to let you inform, we’re able to bring back the extinct animals to life as Dire Wolf’’’. ‘‘Good, then let us conclude this meeting and give our farewells, Thank you humans and friends, we must stay strong and hope for the best. May fate let us meet again.’’         Â
