Arat Hosseini

0

A six-year-old Iranian boy who first stunned the world with his incredible football and gymnastics skills has now amazed followers with his surprisingly chiseled physique. Arat Hosseini has been trained from a young age by his father who posts images of his son on his Instagram page.In them, the six-year-old is pictured showing off his toned six pack and biceps, which are unusually pronounced for someone of his age.The pictures have lead to many of his four million Instagram followers to say he could be the strongest six-year-old in the world.Arat gained international attention when videos emerged of him scaling walls in his parents’ house when he was just three, and when he was four, a video of him playing football also went viral.

The video, in which many viewers mistook Arat for a girl with his long hair, showed him in a Real Madrid shirt while dribbling a football with an incredible amount of control for someone of his age.He reportedly trains hard because he wants to look like his idol, global football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, who currently plays for Juventus in Italy. Arat’s father, Mohammad, has reportedly been training him since he was a toddler. He has said that his son first started doing gymnastics when he was nine-months-old.It wasn’t until he was around one, though, that the family began to take the youngster’s athletic talents more seriously, allowing him to train for around 20 minutes per day, his parents have said.

Through dedicated training, he has been able to master a number of complicated gymnastic poses and athletic feats, with Mohammad overseeing his son’s development every step of the way. Arat soon discovered football, and proved to be very skilled at it, and has even drawn praise from Ronaldo and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi – another of his idols.Speaking to Iran Front Page, Mohammad said: ‘After realising my son’s talents, at the suggestion of those around me, I opened a page on Instagram, which was extraordinarily welcomed not only in Iran but also abroad.’

Arat has previously spoken of his dream to become an Olympic champion and to play for Spanish super-club Barcelona FC. In addition to training with Liverpool’s academy, he has reportedly drawn interest from Arsenal, Manchester United and Barcelona.Mohammad has said that while he and Arat have no intention of returning to Iran permanently, they wanted to go home for the holidays.

‘We have no intention of returning to Iran. We wanted to travel to Iran for a few weeks for the holidays, but it was not possible due to the cancellation of flights after the outbreak of the coronavirus.’

The father has drawn some criticism for pushing Arat too hard and thus depriving him of his childhood, but he has said that Arat has always been an active child and is very interested in athletic activities. He maintains that he has only helped guide Arat by training him, and has always acted in his son’s best interests. When kids see superhuman characters like Batman, Superman, and Spiderman, they wish to become like them. Kids guard the figurines of their heroes fiercely and dress up like them for theme parties and at fancy dress competitions. In reality, only a few are blessed to be like them. One such extraordinarily-gifted child prodigy is Arat Hosseini from Iran. Arat was all of nine months when he began practicing calisthenics poses. Today, he performs tricks that only trained gymnasts with years of practice can do.

At the tender age of three, a toddler usually learns to walk, wash hands, balance on a beam, and turn pages. It would be a big deal if the kid is ready to be potty-trained. But Arat Hosseini from Iran had become a huge sensation on social media, drawing millions of views for performing awe-inspiring stunts. He had garnered over 6,500,000 on Facebook when the news was published in 2017 and presently has 3.9 million followers on Instagram. His videos and pictures showed him performing gymnastics and other stunts without handholds or any modern equipment. His huge fan base on the Internet addresses him as “Spider Boy.”

It is indeed commendable that Arat acquired all the expertise at home and with no special equipment or coach. As his family lived in a small town and very far from big cities, the facilities were simple and limited. Mohammad, Arat’s proud father, has been a constant support in his life, overseeing his development at every stage. He is no coach or athlete himself. He began to coach Arat based on an online video about gymnasts.

Mohammad got to know of Arat’s unusual strength when he was just three months old. Arat tried to lift himself up just by grabbing his father’s finger. Later, he was able to hold on to tiny handles that his father built, much before he even learned to crawl. When he turned one, his parents took his talents seriously and allowed him 10-20 minutes of practice initially. The duration was increased up to an hour as Arat grew older. His prowess increased over time, and at 14 months, he did 15 backward somersaults in a row.

Even at an early age, Arat could perform handstands and pull-ups with remarkable ease. He has performed press-ups with a 6.5 kg weight and sit-ups with a large weight. Videos and pictures of Arat show him jumping off cupboards and flipping from drawers onto a mattress. He had also aced balancing splits and backward walkovers. At the age of four, he was already sporting an impressive six-pack.

Arat is six now, and he has taken his love for sports to the next level. His love for football has won him the Ballon d’Or six times, an annual football award by France Football, a news magazine. He has even received compliments from Messi and Ronaldo. He has now moved to Liverpool and is training with the Liverpool FC’s academy. Popular football clubs such as Arsenal, MU, and Barcelona have expressed interest in him. He trains hard to look like his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo. The latest video showed him doing three thousand kick-ups with a football wearing a Barca teeshirt, and that got him to rave reviews.

It never occurred to Mohamed Hosseini that his son, Arat, who was born on 30 September 2013, would one day become a social media sensation. But that is precisely what he is now, as more than four million followers on Instagram can attest.Still only six, Arat has become the talk of football fans everywhere thanks to the incredible skills that have prompted a host of football stars, including Lionel Messi, to praise his talent and signal a very promising future.

FIFA.com caught up with Arat’s father, who discussed his son’s talent, his expectations for him and his son’s dream of becoming the best footballer in the world.Six-year-old Arat Hosseini has become a social media sensation. He has more than four million followers on InstagramArat is hoping to become the youngest player to feature in the World Cup.

From gymnastics to football

Arat’s talent is not limited to football. Anyone who sees his diminutive physique cannot fail to notice his toned stomach muscles and firm hands. Mohamed discovered that his son had unusually strong hands when he was three months old, which encouraged him to enroll Arat in gymnastics classes.

“When Arat was a little boy he was constantly moving and was always active. He started doing gymnastics even before I brought him to a small club. He was very enthusiastic. He was five at that time and I encouraged him and sought better opportunities for him. He’s been always passionate about sports,” Mohamed revealed.Asked about the global fame his son achieved, he said: “Arat became well-known in Asia as a gymnast when he was very young. When he started playing football, more people around the world started to watch him, and we got a chance to talk to many people including celebrities like DJ Khaled and Novak Djokovic. Arat is now considered a role model for kids, which is great.”

Mohamed recognises the pros and cons of fame, especially on social media, something he advises his son on.

“I talk to Arat about the positive responses we get to his videos, and I use that to motivate him to achieve his goals. However, at the same time it’s very important to protect children from the downsides of social media. After all, he’s still a child who is growing up and learning as education is very important for us,” he said.

Small six pack. That’s the physical description of Arat Hosseini. He is only 6 years old, but his physical appearance is already able to make people amazed. Adults can be ‘half dead’ trying to get a belly like torn bread. However, it is not impossible for Arat. Even so, Arat did not aspire to become a bodybuilder. Said his father, Mohamed Hosseini, his son who was born September 30 2013 wanted to become the world’s best soccer player. Why was Arat able to have a six pack body at a young age? His father said he realized his son had very strong hands when he was three months old and that prompted him to enroll Arat in a gymnastics class when he was five. Arat Hosseini. He started doing gymnastics even before I took him to a small club. He was very enthusiastic,” Mohamed told FIFA.com. ADVERTISEMENT In fact, the name Arat Hosseini has been famous since 2017. At that time, a number of videos circulated showing the actions of this Iranian boy doing pull ups, climbing walls, and doing somersaults from quite extreme places. In addition, at that time Arat also showed his ability when swimming. He also demonstrated the ability to run at high speed on the treadmill. “Arat became famous in Asia as a gymnast when he was very young. When he started playing football, more people around the world started watching him, and we got the chance to talk to many people including celebrities like DJ Khaled and Novak Djokovic,” explained his father.

Arat Hosseini’s football goals Arat openly told his father that he wanted to become a world-class professional soccer player. Mohammed said he would support his son’s wishes. ADVERTISEMENT “I’m sure he will become a great player. He is very talented and self-motivated. It’s a long journey and we will maintain our focus and aim to achieve it. He will be the youngest player to appear in the World Cup,” he said. If you pay attention to his personal Instagram, you will see Arat wearing the Barcelona jersey several times. Even so, his father enrolled him in the Liverpool academy. “We are thinking about the future and the steps we can take. Nothing will stop us. Arat loves school and football,” said Mohammed. “He is currently training with the Liverpool FC Academy and wants to be the best player in the world. So I am doing everything I can to help him,” he added. ADVERTISEMENT The father several times uploaded moments of Arat playing football on Arat’s Instagram account. One of them, Arat’s action, which plays like Lionel Messi. His dribbling, kicking and kicking abilities are amazing. Will the public see him win many Ballon d’Or trophies in the future?

Originally, he was mistaken to be a girl due to his long locks and is reminiscent of a former Ajax prodigy Sonny Pike.

Instagram has found a new kid sporting sensation in the guise of Arat Hosseini. The 5-year old Iranian boy has caused a storm via his social media handle with his footballing skills. Originally believed to be a girl, he was already famous in the web due to his physical training regime from a much-more early age.

Born in 10th October 2013, he was trained to be a gymnast when he was just 1-year old by his father, and without any sponsorship. According to his father, the boy was found to have strong hands and legs at just 7 months of age. At the age of 3, he could do some serious acrobatics like handstand, and jumping from tall heights. His father also reportedly quit his job to train him, and it is alleged that the kid doesn’t practice in a gym.

Now it seems like, the Babol-born kid could be moving towards the direction of being a professional football player, with some serious skills and tekkers displayed in his Insta account.

At a very young age, he already has a physique which can make any adult jealous of him– and boy, he does have some serious skills and technique! In one video, he can be seen playing 1v1 against a boy stated to be two years older to him. Arat displays his body strength and skills, to overpower and outplay his opponent in all possible situations.

In his most recent video, he can be seen completing owning another kid who is possibly older than him. Arat dribbles past him in all possible 1v1 situations, and scores goals with comfortable ease. It is obvious that Arat’s father manages his social media account, and the video’s caption indicates that Arat and his father want him to become the best football player in the world.

Originally, he was mistaken to be a girl due to his long locks and is reminiscent of a former Ajax prodigy Sonny Pike. The English man was also had similar goldilocks but didn’t reach his promised expectation and quit football at a very early age. Arat and his father need to be careful with his development and not fall for the modern money-making schemes which prey upon on this sport; hopefully, he goes on to fulfil his dreams in the near foreseeable future.

Marlow Barkley

0

13-year-old Marlow Barkley was born on November 18, 2008 in California. From a young age, she began acting in a theater in Monrovia, California, which led to work in national television commercials, and gradually made her way into Hollywood movies. She is quite popular on social media Instagram. This year, two of her movie has released made by Hollywood, one of which is “Spirited” and the other is “Slumberland”. Last November 18, on her 13th birthday, her new movie “Slumberland” was released on Netflix. zazafee interviewed this globally popular teenage actress on behalf of Teenagers.

Question: Greetings from Kachikachar Asar. When we contacted you, we didn’t think you would give us time. Did you know about Bangladesh before?

Marlow Barkley: Thank you. I was busy with the release of a new movie starring me and my studies were also a bit stressful. As a result, I could not reply on time. Moreover, being a teenager according to the rules, parents take care of everything. They were quite surprised when they saw that a Bengali newspaper from Bangladesh would interview me. I was just as happy as they were to hear that a popular newspaper in such a distant country would interview me. It is an honor for me. Before this I have known about Bangladesh in World History but not that much.

Question: Right now your new movie “Slumberland” is trending on Netflix. And the interesting thing is that the movie was released on your birthday! We want to know your feelings.

Marlow Barkley: The best present for my 13th birthday was the release of the movie. This is a dream movie. This movie became a huge hit worldwide. Nothing is more exciting than a movie of mine released on a birthday. The experience of watching the movie with the entire family, parents, is truly enchanting. Friends also raved about the movie.

Question: Do you remember when you wanted to be an actress? And what was the main reason for wanting to be an actress? Did you want to be an actress after watching someone’s performance?

Marlow Barkley: I love this question. I remember very well that I used to sing with my sister. I didn’t think I would be an actress then. At such a time an agent contacted us for an audition. It was an audition for the Hollywood movie “Single Parents”. Me and my sister went. I didn’t think that they would choose me. But surprisingly they chose me. It was the first big project of my life. It took two years to complete.

Question: What is your favorite musical show? What musical would you like to be in on Broadway?

Marlow Barkley: I would love to do Beetlejuice. I think it would be so much fun to play Lydia—any role in Beetlejuice would be amazing because it’s such a fun musical show.

Question: Now we want to know about working on the Christmas story based movie “Spirited”. It is also a musical movie. How interesting is it to work in such a movie?

Marlow Barkley: I’ve actually been a fan of Christmas movies since I was a kid. It is also a musical movie. When I saw that world-renowned musicians like Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds were working in this movie, I was naturally intrigued. Because I know that Christmas related movies are watched by the whole family and Ryan and Will Ferrell have a lot of fans around the world so they can be easily identified me. It’s definitely great experience working with them. Then I read the script and said to myself “Oh this is a great story, I have to act in this story. Specially when I saw that I have to play two different characters”.

Question: We want to know the experience of working with adults on shooting sets. Are there any difficulties in working with adults?

Marlow Barkley: To tell you the truth, I like acting with older people more than younger ones. Because of this I matured very quickly. Everyone calls me a kid while acting with kids but not when I work with adults because I’m the only kid on the set. I can blend in with them very well. I think acting with adults is easier as a teenager than acting with younger ones.

Question: The plot of dealing with loss is very close in your films “Spirited” and “Slumberland”. Although your character is different and you are seen most of the time in the movie. Which movie do you like most and what is your opinion about working on multiple movies with such a plot?

Marlow Barkley: I watched both movies intently upon release. I specially liked the movie Slumberland. It was a great experience to act in this movie. The exciting scenes in the movie that everyone is getting excited about are actually shot indoors, that is, on the green screen! VFX has been used in such a way that I was shocked to see my own scenes in the movie. Basically both the movies are funny. But I like Slumberland most. The character of this movie was challenging. I really like to work in this kind of movies.

Question: I know Chris O’Dowd, Jason Mamoa and you were first cast in the movie. Did you practice mutual understanding in that case? That is called grooming.

Marlow Barkley: I did some work on getting along with Jason but not with Chris. Chris and I shot live on set without any practice though which was a bit unbelievable. But I didn’t think the scenes would be so good without some practice. And I had a Zoom meeting with Jason. And to be honest I was very nervous at the beginning of the Zoom meeting because it was my first meeting with him. But the best people are the ones who helped me adapt very easily. We had a lot of fun during the shoot because in between role plays his dog would call out and he would drop everything and go ahead to stop him. All my stress melts away instantly while acting with him. I learned a lot from him.

Question: We saw you get into character in the movie Slumberland. We didn’t think it was a movie. It felt like actually seeing Nemo in a lighthouse in the ocean. Why choose such a complex character?

Marlow Barkley: I auditioned for Slumberland first. I was allowed to read the script. I was so impressed by the script that I told director Francis Lawrence during the audition that I would watch the movie even if I didn’t get the role or was selected. Because I found that I really connected with the character Nemo, specially the events in hier life touched me. Later when I played this character it felt like it was my own life story. I felt like I was really traveling with Nemo in a strange world. The takeaway I got from this movie for real life is to be patient. And be aware of your surroundings.

Question: We saw you stay underwater for a long time in the movie Slumberland. Guess it was all CGI and special effects. right or not? How does it feel to act in such a fictional story?

Marlow Barkley: It was pretty insane. Some parts were terrifying. Some parts were thrilling. I think I was so terrified that it became thrilling for some of the scenes. But it has always been my dream to do stunts. So getting to do a lot of my own stunts was really cool. We filmed a lot in a pool, so I was underwater for water scenes.

Question: We are in awe of your performance. This is the magic of cinema. You have a lot of acting experience now. You are a multi talented actor. Want to know what kind of movie you want to act next? What kind of character do you want?

Marlow Barkley: I really want to be in a horror movie. I’m a scaredy-cat, and I cannot watch horror movies. They freak me out unless I’m with a good group of people. But I would love, love, love to be in a horror movie. I want one that’s like super graphic, a lot of fun makeup. I want a cool fight scene where my nose is bleeding and I’ve got this big injury or I play a monster or I’m possessed. That would be so much fun because I’d get to see what it’s like behind the scenes. … In Slumberland, there was not a lot of big, crazy, bloody action/scary stuff, so it’d be cool to see how horror movies work.

Question: Since you said about make-up, let me ask you about this. We saw you at the Slumberland movie premiere in Los Angeles and you are a very beautiful and sweet girl. Would you say that you are very conscious about beauty and fashion?

Marlow Barkley: Maybe a year or two ago, I would have definitely said I’m more of a makeup person. I always say every time I do a fitting [that] the me two years ago would be looking at the outfits that I’m wearing now and be surprised—like, “Are we sure? Are we actually gonna wear this, or are we just messing around?”—because I’m wearing crazy dresses. I would not have worn that [premiere look] a couple of years ago. So now, I’m more into fashion. But every time I get to have a little glam moment, I get very excited because I just love the process and seeing the before and then the gorgeous after.

Question: We actually saw you as a 12-year-old kid as Nemo in Slumberland. But at the premiere show of the movie, you felt quite grown up. Did you want to expose yourself to the press as a relatively big one? How do you like such a colorful moment?

Marlow Barkley: I’m a teenager. I’m still 13, I’m still young, but I’m not too young. I can be mature, and I’d like to show people that. Lately, I’ve been more fascinated by bright colors and big, bold statements because I think that it expresses feelings and emotions that you can’t really say.

Question: So what is your next goal? When will you return to work?

Marlow Barkley: Well, I have a part in a new show called Tiny Beautiful Things. I am in a couple of episodes where I play the younger version of Kathryn Hahn’s character. My friends can’t watch it because it’s definitely not a kid’s show. But it’s fun to be in a show that’s not meant for kids, so I’m excited to see how that goes. Plus, I’ve been doing auditions, and my fingers are crossed for a Slumberland 2—but you didn’t hear it from me!

Teenagers: Thanks Marlo. I hope to see you in more amazing movies in the future.

Dakota Fanning

Hannah Dakota Fanning was born on the 23rd of February 1994, in Conyers, Georgia, USA, to Heather Joy (Arrington) and Steven Fanning. Her mother played professional tennis, and her father, now an electronics salesman, played minor league baseball. She is of German, Irish, English, French, and Channel Islander descent. Before her debut into the cinematic world, Dakota did her own acting around her house. She was very active for her age, and often put a blanket under her shirt and pretended to be having a baby, using her younger sister, Elle Fanning, who is also an actress now, as the baby. Dakota went to a playhouse near her home, where the children that attended put on a play every week to show to their parents. But the people running the playhouse noticed that Dakota stood out, and advised her parents to take her to an agency. They believed that she was extremely talented.

She is an American actress.Fanning was born in Conyers, Georgia. She attended a Montessori School in Covington. Her mother, Heather Joy (née Arrington), played tennis professionally, and her father, Steven J. Fanning, played minor league baseball and later worked as an electronics salesman in Los Angeles, California. Her maternal grandfather is former American football player Rick Arrington, and her aunt is former ESPN reporter Jill Arrington. Counted among the Arrington family’s notable ancestors is the gentleman farmer William Farrar. Fanning is the elder sister of actress Elle Fanning; they were brought up as Southern Baptists. She rose to prominence at the age of seven for her performance as Lucy Dawson in the drama film I Am Sam (2001), for which she received a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination at the age of eight, making her the youngest nominee in SAG history. Fanning played major roles as a child actress in the films Uptown Girls (2003), The Cat in the Hat (2003), Man on Fire (2004), War of the Worlds (2005), Dreamer (2005), and Charlotte’s Web (2006), and the eponymous character in Coraline (2009).

The Fanning family were advised to spend six weeks in Los Angeles, a long way from their home in Georgia. But there Dakota managed to get her first work; to star in a national Tide commercial. She was chosen out of many, many other children.

The family then decided to move to Los Angeles permanently, for it looked like Dakota’s career was looking very good. After they moved, Dakota signed with a professional agency, and soon won a role in the movie Tomcats (2001). She then went onto a small project called Father Xmas (2001) as Clairee.

But Dakota’s big break-through was yet to come. She auditioned for one of the main characters in I Am Sam (2001), and the director and the rest of the crew were amazed by her extraordinary talent. Dakota was cast, and starred in the movie as Lucy Diamond Dawson, alongside major Hollywood stars Sean Penn and Michelle Pfeiffer.

After I Am Sam (2001) her talent was immediately recognized around the world. She went straight onto Trapped (2002) as Abby Jennings, alongside Charlize Theron, then played the younger version of Reese Witherspoon in 2002’s Sweet Home Alabama (2002) But Dakota still had two more movies to come in 2002. Firstly she got a huge role in Steven Spielberg’s Taken (2002), the mini-TV series, and narrated the ten whole episodes, as well as having a part. This was a little more challenging, as she was playing a troubled alien child, but she managed to do brilliantly. Her last movie for 2002 was the children’s movie Hansel & Gretel (2002) as Katie.

2003 was also a brilliant year for Dakota, as she starred in a number of exciting projects. Firstly, it was as Sally Walden in The Cat in the Hat (2003) with Mike Myers, then she played Lorraine “Ray” Schleine, a bratty little girl, in the sweet comedy Uptown Girls (2003) alongside Brittany Murphy. She then voiced preschool Kim in Kim Possible: A Sitch in Time (2003).

In 2004, Dakota appeared in the violent thriller, Man on Fire (2004), alongside Denzel Washington. Her reviews were excellent.

First in 2005 was Nine Lives (2005), as Maria, then the chilling Hide and Seek (2005) alongside Robert De Niro. By now, she was the busiest child actress in Hollywood, with a resume to die for. Her younger sister, (Elle Fanning), had also been discovered a few years earlier.

After Hide and Seek (2005) came War of the Worlds (2005), which was one of her major movies out of everything she’d worked in. Not only did it make her more popular, but she got to play the daughter of A-list Hollywood actor Tom Cruise. They had four very successful premieres; the first in Tokyo, Japan, the second in France, the third in London, England and the fourth in New York, USA. The reviews were outstanding, especially Dakota’s. She then voiced Lilo in Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch (2005).

Fanning followed with more mature roles, playing Lewellen in Hounddog (2007), Lily in The Secret Life of Bees (2008), Cherie Currie in The Runaways (2010) and Jane in The Twilight Saga (2009–2012). Throughout the 2010s, she continued appearing in independent productions such as the dramas Now Is Good (2012) and Night Moves (2013), the comedy-drama Very Good Girls (2013), and the biographical film Effie Gray (2014). In 2018, she appeared in the heist comedy Ocean’s 8 and had a starring role in the period drama series The Alienist. She has since portrayed Manson girl Squeaky Fromme in the Quentin Tarantino film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019) and First Daughter Susan Ford in the Showtime biographical drama series The First Lady (2022).

When she received the Best Young Actor/Actress award from the Broadcast Film Critics Association for her performance in I Am Sam (2001), she was too short to reach the microphone to give her acceptance speech. Anna Paquin

0

Anna Hélène Paquin is a New Zealandian actress. Born  born on 24 July 1982 at Winnipeg,Manitoba, in Canada and raised in Wellington,The young girl amazed film critics and viewers with her talent in the drama The Piano at the age of 10. Paquin made her acting debut portraying Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano (1993), for which she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at age 11, making her the second-youngest winner in Oscar history. As a child actress, she received multiple Young Artist Award nominations for her roles in Fly Away Home (1996), The Member of the Wedding (1997), and A Walk on the Moon (1999), and a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for appearing in Cameron Crowe’s comedy-drama film Almost Famous (2000). She also appeared in the films Jane Eyre (1996) and Amistad (1997).

At 11, Anna Paquin won the most prestigious Oscar Award. The actress has shown her skills not only on the screen but also on the theater stage, although she does not have special education.

Childhood and youth

Anna Paquin was born on July 24, 1982, in Canada, in the city of Winnipeg, in the family of school teachers. Her mother, Mary (née Brophy), a New Zealander from Wellington, worked as an English teacher, and her Canadian father, Brian Paquin, worked as a physical education teacher.

She is the youngest of three children, with two siblings: Andrew, a filmmaker, and Katya, whose partner is the Green Party of New Zealand’s former co-leader, Russel Norman. All her maternal great-grandparents emigrated from Ireland because of the Great Famine. Her father is of Dutch and French descent. The family moved to Wellingtonwhen she was four.

The parents raised three children, and the future actress was the youngest daughter. The girl was fond of music and sports in youth. Anna did not plan to become an actress, and she did not dream about the studio light boards and television cameras. At school, the girl learned to play the viola, cello, and piano.

She was also interested in different kinds of sports. Anna participated in gymnastics, swimming, downhill skiing, etc. Besides gymnastics, flexibility was useful in ballet, which also fascinated the schoolgirl.

In 1995, Paquin’s parents divorced, and the young New Zealander moved with her mother to Los Angeles, where she graduated from high school. After graduation in 2000, the girl studied at Columbia University for one year. By that time, the student had already been acting in cinema, and she was short of time for studying. Anna chose the career of an actress, and since she has been on a leave of absence.

Paquin had no acting experience, besides performances on the school stage, where she took part in several plays.

The role of Flora had a long text because according to the plot, the heroine served as an interpreter of a mute mother. Besides, the girl had to speak with a Scottish accent. Despite the difficulties, Anna brilliantly coped with the task. Critics and film viewers warmly received the movie. Anna won the Oscar Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Such a reward was a real surprise for the eleven-year-old girl. When Paquin went on the stage at the ceremony, she was so confused that could give an acceptance speech only after a 20-second pause.

It is no wonder that such a breakthrough at the beginning of her career made her famous and the girl received thousands of proposals for shooting. However, the schoolgirl did not plan to continue to pursue acting and often refused them. But the girl starred in three commercials and signed a contract with the prestigious William Morris Agency.

Next time she played in the movie in 1996, when the schoolgirl appeared in the role of young Jane Eyre in the screen adaptation of Charlotte Brontë‘s novel. The same year she starred in the drama Fly Away Home, where the actress played a little orphan girl, who moved in with her father.

Before graduation, Anna also participated in several films and voiced the main character in the full-length animated adventure film Laputa: Castle in the Sky by Disney Studio. After graduation, the career of the actress continued to flourish. She debuted on the theater stage. Critics and experts appreciated the girl’s talent, and she received a lot of theater nominations and awards.

A significant point in her career was the participation in the superhero films about X-Men. Anna worked on the same set with Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, playing the Marvel comics character of the mutant Rogue.

She was busy filming in the works Blue State, Margaret, Trick ’r Treat, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee. Anna was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress for her work on the last film.

While in New Zealand, Paquin attended Raphael House Rudolf Steiner School and Hutt Intermediate School, both in Lower Hutt. Her parents divorced when she was 12. She received her secondary education at Wellington Girls’ College. After moving to the U.S. when she was 16 she attended Windward School in Los Angeles, from which she graduated in 2000. She studied at Columbia College for one year, where she lived in Carman Hall,[27] but dropped out to continue her acting career.

Director Jane Campion was looking for a little girl to play a main role in The Piano, set to film in New Zealand, and a newspaper advertisement was run announcing an open audition. Paquin’s sister read the ad and went to try out with a friend; this inspired Paquin to audition. When Campion met Paquin—whose only acting experience had been as a skunk in a school play—she was very impressed with the nine-year-old’s performance of the monologue about Flora’s father, and she was chosen from among the 5000 candidates. When The Piano was released in 1993 it was lauded by critics, won prizes at a number of film festivals, and eventually became a popular film among a wide audience. Paquin’s debut performance in the film earned her the 1993 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at the age of 11, making her the second-youngest Oscar winner in history, behind Tatum O’Neal.

Paquin and her family did not plan to continue to pursue acting. However, she was invited to the William Morris Agency, and she kept receiving offers for new roles. In 1996, she appeared in two films. The first role was as young Jane in Jane Eyre. The other was a lead part in Fly Away Home playing a young girl who, after her mother dies, moves in with her father and finds solace in taking care of orphaned goslings. As a teenager, she had roles in other films, including A Walk on the Moon, Finding Forrester, Amistad, Hurlyburly, She’s All That and Almost Famous as well as the English dub of Castle in the Sky.

The Doner kebab and Turkish migrants

0

Most Europeans have a lot of Turkish migrants. This means that the Turkish migrants have adopted their cultural food which is the Doner kebab. The Doner kebab ? is normally a thick-sized bread or tortilla which has a range variety of vegetables including tomatoes, salads, cabbage, onions, cucumbers etc. It also has any of the normal sauces put inside it. The most famous reason that doner kebabs are so good is because of their’ thinly sliced meat.

In Turkey originally they used to use lamb but now like other European countries, they have all adapted to using beef and chicken. I do not know how but they put the meat in this spinner machine but it constantly cooks the meat, so you constantly see it moving in circles. The way they would extract it is by using a grinder up and down where the fallen layers are the thinly sliced meat. Doner kebab was one of the best things I ever tried in Italy, I highly recommend the one in Milan to a place in vimercate called ‘piazza Marconi. They serve the best doner kebab I have ever tried in my life. It’s also relatively cheap too. England has their version of it but it never beat the one I tried in Italy. The one in Italy also gives more meat because I almost got full eating one whereas that’s not the case in England. This country is very wealthy and they still are cheap, ridiculous. Italy on the other hand is fair.

Magnificent Italy in the eyes of a teenager

0

Part-2

Italy is magnificent. It starts with some breathtaking, mountainous views of historical old aged buildings. It has beautiful splendid warm weather and you always see that sunshine on you. In theory, there are probably 300 days with the sun shining in the morning through your windows rather than gloomy, eerie, rainy water dripping on your windows like it is In the UK.

There are a wide variety of foods. These include mouthwatering pizzas and that appetising gelato. Gelato is quite like ice cream. Ice cream contains higher fat content and is airier whereas gelato, on the other hand, contains less sugar and is packed with flavours.

We also cannot forget about Italy’s infamous pasta. Though I have not eaten it on my last trip to Italy, I can perfectly recall what it was like when I last ate it there. Although pasta in Italy is generally expensive, they are worth every penny; once you taste you will be eating it more than twice. Trust me.

10 longest beaches in the world

0

Who does not like the sea! When you travel abroad, you can see the unseen beauty of nature. And if there is a sea or sea beach nearby, the mind will be drawn there. A study has shown that the number of tourists is relatively high in countries that have sea beaches. Let’s know about the longest beach in the world:

Praia do Casino Beach, Brazil:

Located in the southern part of Brazil, it is currently the longest beach in the world. Its length is about 241 km. This long stretch of beach stretches from the banks of the Rio Grande to the Uruguayan border. The white sand and warm temperature of the beach is one of the most attractive places for tourists from all over the world.

Cassino Beach is known as the oldest spa in Brazil, dating back to 1890. The beach was developed by the Suburban Mangueira Company as a tourist destination. The director of the company, Antonio Condido Sequeira, and the investors of the company acquired the land in the beach area with the help of the state government and built a tourist complex on January 26, 1890. Later this tourist center became very popular and big companies started investing here. At the time, Brazilians of German, English, Portuguese, and Italian descent often came to the beach to enjoy the sea in expensive hotels. The persecution of Italians and Germans during World War II and the ban on roulette in 1948 had a devastating effect on the region’s economy. However, in recent times Praia do Cassino have been able to attract tourists to the beach.

On Nov. 12, 1966, during a total solar eclipse visible in Praia do Cassino, NASA scientists and U.S. Army have launched several rockets to study upper atmosphere.

The Praia do Casino was recognized as the world’s longest beach by Guinness World Records in 1994.

The largest beach ultramarathon race in the world is held on this beach, the Cassino Ultra Race, a long-distance race that consists of traveling a distance of 230 km through the sand, although it can also be run in the 73K and 135K modality. It begins at Barra del Chuí Beach and ends at Cassino Beach.

Around 150,000 tourists visit Praia do Cassino every year. During the summer season, especially from December to January, the number of tourists visiting this place increases. Tourists can be seen participating in various activities including swimming and surfing. This beach is home to the largest number of seals in the world. Many tourists visit these seals by boat

Nine Mile Beach, Australia:

This beach is about 151 kilometers long located in Victoria, Australia. A large number of tourists visit here every year to enjoy the magnificent beauty of the beach. Apart from the beauty of the beach, there is also the facility of sitting on the beach and enjoying the sight of dolphins and whales. This beach is also very popular among surfers.

Nine Mile Beach is a large unpatrolled beach at Tuncurry. Also known as Tuncurry Beach, it’s well known for good surfing but on the southern end you’ll also find Tuncurry Rockpool, an enclosed swimming area nestled into the breakwall.

With a kiosk, children’s play area and barbecue facilities this is an extremely popular spot for families. This beach is not patrolled.

For dog walking, Nine Mile Beach has an off-leash area north of the beach access track at Beach Street. Dogs can also be walked on-leash at specific times in the morning and early evening south of that same beach access track at Beach Street up to the breakwall.

Cox’s Bazar Beach, Bangladesh:

Millions of tourists flock to Cox’s Bazar Beach in the south of Bangladesh every year to see the wonderful combination of mountains and sea. This 120 km long beach is said to be one of the sandiest beaches in the world. The huge waves of the sea, the magical twilight, the view of the sunrise are all such as to take the mind of the tourists.

Cox’s Bazar is one of the longest sea beaches in the world. It’s a sandy beach with an unbroken 155 Km length. The sea beach is the main attraction of the Cox’s Bazar town. There are large number of hotels, resorts, guest houses, motels and restaurants have been established in the city. Several international standard 3 to 5 star hotels and resorts are available, which provide exclusive beachside area with accessories for the tourist. It’s crowded mainly during pick season, which starts from October through March. It’s a stunning and beautiful place to enjoy swimming, walking, and to observe sunrise and sunset. It’s a wonderful beach to visit for the family, friends and tourists and to enjoy the amazing nature.

Cox’s Bazar Beach is one of the longest uninterrupted natural sand beaches in all of Bangladesh.

Most of Cox’s Bazar is 660 feet wide at high tide, and 1,300 feet wide at low tide. This Bay of Bengal beach is quite unknown to the international beach-loving crowd. But Cox’s Bazar is one of the most visited destinations in Bangladesh.

Along its 75 miles, different sections of Cox’s Bazar Beach have distinct names, usually referring to the flora and fauna in the area. Among the most popular sections are Laboni Beach, Humchari Beach, and Inani Beach, all doable on one-day trips from the town of Cox’s Bazar, where most accommodation is located. Further south is Teknaf Beach.

In general, the further south you go, the bluer the ocean, and the smaller the crowd. If you stay near Cox’s Bazar town, brace yourself for throngs of people. This can be frustrating if you were expecting a deserted tropical beach, but it can a great opportunity to get closer to the Bangladeshi notion of a beach holiday.

Founded in 1869, Cox’s Bazar is named after Captain Hiram Cox, superintendent of the British East India Company, which was stationed in Palongkee (the town’s former name). This is an anomaly in the subcontinent, where most colonial place names have been changed, and it is probably due to the positive effect of Captain Cox’s rehabilitation work with the Arakanese refugees.

Know Before You Go

The easiest and fastest of getting to Cox’s Bazar is by plane. There are daily flights to Dhaka and Chittagong. For those not afraid of sitting in the traffic for hours, buses are also available. There is not a huge supply of accommodation, but in and near Cox’s Bazar town there are both high-end and budget options, including a handful of eco-lodges.

A couple of warnings. This is not Cancun or Pattaya. Local people are extremely friendly, but you have to remember that Bangladesh is a conservative Muslim country. The attire for both men and women should be modest, even while swimming. Once you go beyond Cox’s Bazar town, you will find few (if any) facilities. If venturing south, you should plan on being self-reliant. Be careful with quicksand, especially during low tide.

The name Cox’s Bazar originated from the name of a British East India Company officer, Captain Hiram Cox, who was appointed as the Superintendent of Palonki (today’s Cox’s Bazar) outpost. He succeeded Warren Hastings, who became the Governor of Bengal following the British East India Company Act in 1773. Cox embarked upon the task of rehabilitation and settlement of the Arakanese refugees in the area.

Padre Island International Beach, USA:

This beach is located in South Texas, USA. The length of the longest beach along the shores of Padre Island is about 112 km. Sitting on the beach, which is a storehouse of immense beauty, you can also enjoy the movement of sea turtles, different species of birds, etc.Padre Island National Seashore separates the Gulf of Mexico from the Laguna Madre, one of a few hypersaline lagoons in the world. The park protects 66 miles of coastline, dunes, prairies, and wind tidal flats teeming with life. It is a safe nesting ground for the Kemp’s ridley sea turtle and a haven for over 380 bird species. It also has a rich history, including the Spanish shipwrecks of 1554.

Padre Island National Seashore (PINS) is a national seashore located on Padre Island off the coast of South Texas. In contrast to South Padre Island, known for its beaches and vacationing college students, PINS is located on North Padre Island and consists of a long beach where nature is preserved.

Most of the park is primitive, but camping is available, and most of the beach is only accessible to four-wheel-drive vehicles. All but four miles is open to vehicle traffic. PAIS is the fourth designated national seashore in the United States.

North Padre Island is the longest undeveloped barrier island in the world. The national seashore is 70 miles (110 km) long with 65.5 miles (105.4 km) of Gulf beach. PAIS hosts a variety of pristine beach, dune, and tidal flat environments, including the Laguna Madre on its west coast, a famous spot for windsurfing. It is located in parts of Kleberg, Kenedy, and Willacy counties, with Kenedy County having the majority of its land area.

Geologically extremely young, Padre Island is a vastly dynamic geologic feature. Unlike most of today’s geologic features, such as the Grand Canyon or the likes, Padre Island changes constantly. Situated in a stable depository basin, there isn’t much that can intervene with the barrier bars, except for the occasional hurricanes that come by. Most of Padre Island is less than 20 feet above mean sea level. Constant bombardment of prevailing southeasterly winds from the Gulf of Mexico heap beach of sand into high foredunes. In some places, the onshore wind may blow loose sand from the foredunes and beach across the flats beyond. Active sand dunes march across the island, smothering vegetation in their paths and leaving barren sandflats in their wakes. In other places, vegetation may win a battle of its own and stabilize the blowing sand by binding it with roots and vines. Slower daily movements of the sand and stabilizing effects of vegetation are interrupted occasionally by the brutal force of hurricane winds, waves, and tides. During storms, beaches are eroded, vegetation is ripped up, dunes are flattened, and channels are scoured across the island

Playa Novillero, Mexico:

About 90 kilometers long, this beach is located in the city of Tequila, Mexico. According to the Guinness Book of Records, it is one of the longest beaches in the world. Every year, Mexico’s hottest months, June to August, attract a large number of beach-loving tourists. This beach is also very popular for fishing and shrimp farming.

Stretching for almost 90 kilometers (56 miles) and measuring almost half a kilometer (a third of a mile) wide, the fine sand beach of Playa Novillero Mexico is stunning with its tranquil waters. In places, this beach literally invites you to walk out into open Pacific Ocean waters for almost 100 meters (328 feet). This is undoubtably one of the state’s best must-see Nayarit destinations.

It is common to see groups of young adults and adolescents enjoying themselves in the surf and entire families gathered together to prepare a feast on the ocean shore.

Thanks to its natural gifts, the beach at Novillero Mexico is also one of the safest in the state of Riviera Nayarit, making it ideal for children and inexperienced swimmers to venture out into the tranquil warm waves.

Things to Do in Novillero Nayarit Mexico

Other natural Nayarit activities and attractions located near Playa Novillero beach include The Cuautla Canal and Brava Lake. You can visit by boat on a tour to observe the mangroves, which is home to a wide variety of resident and migratory birds.

The weather here ranges from 75-90°F (24-32°C) in summer months and between 60-77°F (16-25°C) in winter months. The rainy season runs from July to September with the most rainy days in August. Don’t let the “rainy season” in Novillero Mexico discourage you, as weather in the rainiest month of August means just 6 days of rain for a total of just 9 mm of precipitation.

Playa Novillero Mexico is located in the northern part of Riviera Nayarit in the township of Tecuala. Nearby Playa Novillero Nayarit hotels are in the neighboring towns of Tecuala and Acaponeta.

San Blas Mexico is just 164 km away, and the distance to Nuevo Vallarta is approximately 4 hours or 312 kilometers, but well worth the drive!

Ninety Mile Beach, New Zealand:

This beach in northern New Zealand is full of natural wonders with a length of 88 km. Located in the North Island, this beach and the surrounding mountains are very attractive to tourists. Around 1932 it was used as a runway for Australian and New Zealand aircraft.

Ninety-Mile Beach is the fabled strip of sand that stretches from Ahipara to Scott Point, five kilometres south of Cape Maria van Diemen. Truth be told, it is actually 88 kilometres long.

Ninety Mile Beach, western coast of Aupori Peninsula, the northernmost extension of North Auckland Peninsula, North Island, New Zealand. It stretches for 55 miles (88 km) from Scott Point (northwest) to Ahipara Bay (southwest) and is bordered by scrubland and sand dunes.

In 1643 the Dutch navigator Abel Tasman referred to the beach as “a desert coast.” Now a resort area, it offers fishing (especially for toheroa, a shellfish delicacy) and automobile racing on the hard-packed strand.

This beach is officially a highway, but is really only suitable for 4WD vehicles and is safe to drive only at specific times of the tides. Rental companies won’t allow their cars on the sand, mostly for safety reasons. The easy way to drive along the beach is to catch a coach tour from Kaitaia. If you are short of time in Northland and staying in the Bay of Islands, coach tours and scenic flights up to Cape Reinga depart from Paihia daily.

Beach activities range from surfcasting and swimming to bodyboarding down the sand dunes. A special treat is digging for tuatua (a native shellfish) in the sand at low tide. Flanking the beach is the Aupouri Forest, which provides a green escape from the hot sun.

Once a year in late February or early March, 90 Mile Beach hosts a five day fishing competition. Hundreds of anglers surf cast from the beach hoping to catch the biggest snapper, a delicious white-flesh fish found in New Zealand waters.

In the days of sailing ships a number of vessels were wrecked on the beach.

In 1932 the beach was used as the runway for some of the earliest airmail services between Australia and New Zealand.

Ninety Mile Beach was included as part of Te Araroa when it officially opened in 2011.

In a 2013 feature for the British television motoring programme Top Gear, Jeremy Clarkson drove the length of the beach in a Toyota Corolla as part of a race against an AC45 racing yacht crewed by British Olympic sailor Sir Ben Ainslie and the winning crew of the 2010 America’s Cup, with James May also on board.

Te-Oneroa-a-Tōhē / Ninety Mile Beach is one of many places in New Zealand to have a dual name, consisting of both its former English name and its Māori name. This dual name was adopted in 2014 as a result of a Treaty of Waitangisettlement between the New Zealand government and Ngāti Kuri, an iwi based in the area around the beach. The Māori name for the beach translates as “the long beach of Tōhē”, referencing an early ancestor of Ngāti Kuri. The English portion of the dual name has unclear origins and is often the source of confusion, given that the beach is only 55 miles (89 km) long – not ninety. A common story for the name holds that early Europeans took three days to traverse the beach, with their horses typically able to cover thirty miles per day. According to the legend, the Europeans took this to mean that the beach was 90 miles long, failing to account for their slower speed due to the sand. Despite the popularity of this story, it is unclear whether there is any historical basis for this story, however.

Virginia Beach, United States:

The length of this beach is about 56 kilometers, located in the southeastern part of Virginia in the United States. Virginia Beach is an independent city located on the southeastern coast of the Commonwealth of Virginia in the United States. The population was 459,470 as of the 2020 census. Although mostly suburban in character, it is the most populous city in Virginia, fifth-most populous city in the Mid-Atlantic, ninth-most populous city in the Southeast and the 42nd-most populous city in the U.S. Located on the Atlantic Ocean at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay, Virginia Beach is the largest city in the Hampton Roads metropolitan area. This area, known as “America’s First Region”, also includes the independent cities of Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Suffolk, as well as other smaller cities, counties, and towns of Hampton Roads.

Virginia Beach is a resort city with miles of beaches and hundreds of hotels, motels, and restaurants along its oceanfront. Every year the city hosts the East Coast Surfing Championships as well as the North American Sand Soccer Championship, a beach soccer tournament. It is also home to several state parks, several long-protected beach areas, military bases, a number of large corporations, Virginia Wesleyan University and Regent University, the international headquarters and site of the television broadcast studios for Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), Edgar Cayce‘s Association for Research and Enlightenment, and numerous historic sites. Near the point where the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean meet, Cape Henry was the site of the first landing of the English colonists, who eventually settled in Jamestown, on April 26, 1607.

Long Beach, United States:

Long Beach Beach is located on the Pacific coast of the United States. The Port of Long Beach is said to be the second busiest seaport in the world. The length of this beach is 45 km. Thousands of tourists flock to this sunny beach every year to enjoy the immense beauty of the sea.

Long Beach also hosts the Grand Prix of Long Beach, an IndyCar race and the Long Beach Pride Festival and Parade. California State University, Long Beach, one of the largest universities in California by enrollment, is within the city.

Muisenburg, South Africa:

Stocktone Beach, Australia:

Stocktone Beach is located on the eastern side of New South Wales, Australia. Its length is about 32 km. This place was very important against the attack of the Japanese forces in World War II. Still thousands of local and foreign tourists come to enjoy the view of this Australian beach every year.

An enchanted teenager’s trip to Italy Part-1

0

On the 21st of October, I went to Italy. We reached the airport and our flight was at around 7 pm. When we landed in Italy I saw a huge difference, the first real one being that they drive on the right side and the driver’s seat is on the right side; this is opposite to the UK. After we reached a guest’s house I also noticed how the ambulance siren has changed. The Italian ambulance siren gives me nostalgia for when I used to live here. The place we first were in Bergamo.

2020 World Remember Bergamo most affected city by covid 19. On day 1 in Italy, we first went to the Italian supermarket esselunga which also gives me nostalgia because of how much we used to shop there. One thing that surprised me there is how there was a bar in a supermarket. You usually wouldn’t find this in the UK but what you would find are coffee chains in the big supermarkets, not a breakfast bar, especially from esselunga. So we ate our daily breakfast (also the cappuccino is nice here) and we just explored esselunga in general.

There were a wide variety of mouth-flavouring foods such as brioche and Italian pasta sauces. What I love about Italy is how tuna is incredibly popular here. In the UK you would rarely even find tuna and you would find tuna stored in just water. In Italy, you would find nice tunas which are stored in olive oil. Another thing I like about olive tuna is the various ways that you can eat it such as with bread or with pasta etc. For Bangladeshis, you can make tuna Vorta.

to be continue…..

Sheikh Russel Victim of barbarity

0

written by: Sheikh Masud Kamal

It is not easy to come up with the right words to express our sorrow and convey our condolences to the surviving sisters, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her younger sister Sheikh Rehana, who have lost their 10 years old youngest brother- Sheikh Russel. It is an irreplaceable loss for them. ‘What did my younger brother do that they had to kill him?’ Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina asks and remembers her loving younger brother whenever she talks about the shameless killing in 1975.

Sheikh Russel, Bangabandhu’s youngest son, was born in Dhaka on 18 October 1964. At the time of his death, Russel was a student of Class Four at Dhaka University Laboratory School. Russell did not get much of his father due to his father’s political activities that sent him to jail frequently. It is learnt that his house tutor Gitali said, ‘The kid had sympathy for the poor. He used to give away gifts as donations. Whenever he found any poor being cheated, he would take him to his father and complained’.

On 15 August 1975, Russel pleaded to be taken to his mother, not knowing she had already been killed. The killers made him walk past the bodies of his close ones. Finally, when he confronted his mother’s body in the lobby, he burst into tears. Then he said, ‘take me to Hasu Apa’. At that time Sheikh Hasina and her younger sister Sheikh Rehana were abroad. That means Russel possibly thought he would survive if he could go abroad to his sisters. But, instead of having a little mercy on an innocent boy they shot him. He was the last person to be killed on that dark night along with his parents and other family members at the residence of Dhanmondhi 32.

Razia Matin Chowdhury, the Principal of University Laboratory School, in a memoir said, ‘Russel, the most kind-hearted little boy, that I have ever had the pleasure of teaching. He loved to make everyone laugh. He will be missed by all his classmates. Many of his teachers said, Russel had the biggest heart of any boy they have ever come across’. As his teachers mentioned, Russel cared about everybody and he was loved by everyone at school. Not a single day would go by where he would not glorify his school.
Bangabandhu was a great fan of the eminent thinker and philosopher Bertrand Russell and when he was imprisoned, he spent his time reading the books of Bertrand Russell. As such he named his youngest son Russel after the name of this great philosopher.

The tragic incident led to his death stunned the entire country. The brutal killing has left us speechless. The same has been happening in different forms on the globe during these decades which is not acceptable. John Donne, English poet wrote aptly, ‘Death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind.’ Like Russel many other little boys and girls, who are free from evil or guilt, are being slaughtered even today.

What a beautiful boy, Russel was! He was adorable to everyone. He might have become a remarkable man with the passage of time. Wiping out Bangabandhu’s family bloodline including Sheikh Russel in 1975, was one of the cruelest acts in the world. The conspirators did not show any mercy and did not spare his life.

The nation reproaches the heinous act of assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and most of his family members including little boy Sheikh Russel. Death cannot take Russel away from the memory of his surviving sisters Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and Sheikh Rehana. He will be remembered by them and us as well. He will be in our mind always. We pray for the innocent soul.

Dafne Keen

0

Dafne Keen was a British-Spanish actress born on January 19, 2005. The daughter of actor Will Keen and actress, theater director, and writer María Fernández Ache, Dafne was also the paternal great-granddaughter of Edward Curzon, 6th Earl Howe, a member of the English peerage. Known for his roles in “Victor Frankenstein” (2015) and “The Crown” (Netflix, 2016-), Will Keen acted alongside his daughter in her acting and television debut, “The Refugees” (laSexta, 2015).

Dafne Keen

The British-Spanish co-production followed a massive group of refugees time traveling to the past to avoid a deadly virus; both father and daughter were a part of the main cast. Dafne Keen landed her breakout role (and her film debut) as Laura in “Logan” (2017), the conclusion of Hugh Jackman’s run as the iconic Marvel Comics and X-Men character Wolverine. As his mutant daughter (claws run in the family), Keen received critical praise. She then joined the television adaptation of Philip Pullman’s “His Dark Materials” (BBC One, TBA) as main character Lyra, appearing alongside her father Will once again.

Dafne Keen is a wonderful young actress who you will know from playing X-23 in Logan. She was fantastic in the role, and right after that film came out, the rumors of her playing the character in her own film started, of course. Nothing ever got off the ground, and then Disney bought Fox, essentially killing that possibility. While doing publicity for the second season of HBO’s His Dark Materials, Dafne Keen talked a little about the studio’s hopes from back then and says that she, of course, would love to continue the X-23 story on the big screen.

Dafne Keen2 years later after her screen debut, and after several auditions, Keen was cast by Marvel Comics in a big-budget Hollywood production; she co-starred with Hugh Jackman in the 2017 superhero film Logan as the mutant Laura, the child clone of Wolverine. The film opened to critical and financial success, and is considered to be one of the best superhero movies of all time. Keen’s performance received critical acclaim, and she received several awards and nominations for her performance, which include winning an Empire Award for Best Newcomer, and receiving nominations from the Chicago Film Critics Association, the Saturn Awards, and more.In 2019, Keen was cast in the lead role of Lyra Belacqua in the BBC/HBO television adaptation of the His Dark Materials trilogy, where she co-stars along with actress Ruth Wilson; her father is also a cast member of the series.

The series has a positive reception,[17] and Keen received praise for her performance, with The Hollywood Reporter writing “…this effort nails much of what makes the books pop, and both the special effects and a star-studded cast led by Dafne Keen and Ruth Wilson are in fine form.” For the role, she was nominated for a BAFTA Cymru Award for Best Actress in 2020.In 2020, Keen starred alongside Andy García in the comedy-drama film Ana; the film was originally announced in 2017, but was delayed until 2020. The film opened to mixed reviews, although Keen’s performance received praise. Film critic Amari commenting on her “charisma and presence” and wrote how Keen and Garcia “enhance each other’s presence to the point you can forgive the film’s shortcomings.”

If I can’t secure a job what’s the point of achieving University degree?

Vatsal Nahata
Vatsal Nahata

If I can’t secure a job, what’s the point of achieving University degree? This is a good question. So we are going to tell you about this topic. We will tell you the power of networking.

Success will come if you persevere. Vatsal Nahata, a graduate student of Yale University in the United States, proved this. He went there from India to study. Nahta had a dream to work in the World Bank. He pursued his dream job for a long time. For this he had to exchange 600 mails. Had to call 80 times. However, he did not give up. After continuous efforts, he got his dream job. Nahata wrote about this effort to get the desired job in a big post on his LinkedIn. More than 15 thousand people have liked this post of his. Apart from this, his post has been shared by more than 100 people.

Yale University is a famous and ancient university in the United States. He started trying for a job there during the corona epidemic of 2020 at the end of his graduation. But at the time of corona epidemic, various institutions fell into financial distress. Nahta started his post with this. He said, “At that time many organizations started laying off workers. He wrote, graduation was going to end in 2 months. There was no work at hand. I thought as a Yale student, if I can’t secure a job, what’s the point of coming to Yale? At that time parents also started asking questions.

Nahata said, ‘I did not think about going back to India. I thought the first salary would be in dollars. For this I start networking or communicating with everyone. At this time I stay away from any portal or job application. I connected with 15 thousand people in two months. Write 600 emails. 80 people contacted. I was rejected from most places. Nahata also said, ‘I have contacted so many people that my strategy has worked. I received four job offers in early May. This time I choose the World Bank. They agreed to sponsor my visa. Also, my manager offered me an opportunity to co-author a research paper on machine learning. Nahata completed his graduation in Economics from Sriram College and Commerce, Delhi. He says the tough times have taught him a few things. One of these is the power of networking.

The first half of 2020 was a difficult time for everyone. People were already having a tough time adapting to the pandemic, and the job scenario was quite bleak. After Covid-19 was declared a pandemic, many organisations were looking to cut costs and let go of employees. “Every company was preparing for the worst, and it made no sense to hire. A historic recession seemed looming (sic),” Nahata said.

He was ready to get his Master of Arts degree in International and Development Economics from Yale in May 2020, but it hit a hurdle. It was the same year that former US President Donald Trump had made his thoughts about immigration policies clear.

Nahata was one of the many Indian talents in the US who found it difficult to find companies which would sponsor a visa. He would reach the final rounds of interviews but would be later rejected as they couldn’t sponsor his visa. “Trump’s stance on immigration made it very uncertain for companies to navigate and predict US immigration policy. Everybody wanted to play it safe and hire US citizens,” the Yale graduate wrote in his post.

The Yale degree started feeling like a piece of paper – he was ready to graduate in the next two months but had no job in hand. “I thought to myself, ‘what was the point of coming to Yale when I can’t even secure a job here? It became harder to sound strong to my parents when they called and asked me how I was doing.'”

But, Nahata – who is currently working at the International Monetary Fund as a Research Analyst – didn’t want to give up this easy. Two things he knew for sure: returning to India was not an option, and his first paycheck would only be in American dollars.

And, he made one of the most crucial decisions of his life – he decided to stop filling out job application forms or scanning recruitment portals. He decided to try out ‘networking’.

For people who haven’t tried networking yet, it involves sending out numerous (random) emails and making calls to strangers hoping to get a positive response from one. Cold-emailing is considered to be one of the harder types of communication because you don’t know the person on the other side nor do you get any feedback which can be used to improve your approach the next time.

Nahata spent two months building his network. He sent over 1500 connection requests, wrote 600 cold emails and got on 80 odd cold calls with strangers in that period. “I was clocking close to 2 cold calls per day and faced the highest number of rejections I’ve ever gone through. I developed thick skin by necessity. And I was getting nowhere.”

The desperation to find a job got to him. The Atticus Ross and Trent Reznor’s soundtrack ‘The Gentle Hum of Anxiety’ from the 2010 film ‘The Social Network’ became his most-played song on YouTube. He was eating, drinking, sleeping and dreaming of ‘networking’.

“You could wake me up at 4 AM, and I could smoothly network and sell my skills to the most seasoned American executive, all while knowing that this call is probably going nowhere. Things became so desperate that I would often cold-call people in my dreams,” his post read.

After knocking on several doors, Nahata’s strategy paid off. He landed four job offers by the first week of May, and the World Bank was one of them. They were willing to sponsor his visa after his Optional Practical Training was concluded. Moreover, his manager offered him a co-authorship on a Machine Learning paper with the World Bank’s current Director of Research (none of which was known to him at that time). And, he decided to go with the World Bank’s offer.

The intense two months taught Nahata, who is an Economic graduate from Delhi’s Shri Ram College of Commerce, the lessons of a lifetime. As he understood the ‘true power of networking’, it became his second nature. This experience gave him the confidence that he can survive in any given situation and figure out his way as an immigrant in the United States.

He also realised that an Ivy League degree could only take him so far. “Times of crisis (Covid and Trump’s immigration policies) were ideal grounds to metamorphose into a more evolved person,” he added.

By sharing his experience with the world, Nahata wanted to encourage people to never give up. “If you’re going through something similar where the world seems to be collapsing on you: carry on – do not go gentle into that good night. Better days will come if you’re learning from your mistakes and if you knock on enough doors.”

Study after a long break

0
female-student-writing-notes-in-binder-in-college-library

Study after a long break. There will be always some obstacles, but, strong desire would help achieve your dreams. How would you feel returning to the school after a long study break? It would be excited but not easy, for sure. Yet, the distance learning online courses, Bangladesh Open University and many private universities in Bangladesh welcome students to finish their study after long study break.

Ahmed Reza, a student of BA Honors, started his graduation at the age of thirty two. At the age of nineteen, his father passed away in an accident. Being the elder son of the family, he had to take all the responsibilities — taking care of all the financial maintenance — from his mother’s medicines to his two younger sisters’ educational responsibilities. Therefore, he had sacrificed his own study. Now, after 13 years, being financially stable, he has started his study again, along with his job.

This coming back to the school was not easy for Reza. He shares, “I always wanted to finish my study. Now that I got the opportunity to manage my job and study, I started again. But, it is always tough to maintain the generation gap in the classroom and skip the judgmental eyes of others. It takes courage and immense desire to fulfill my dream of finishing my study.”

Like Reza, Zaynul Rahman is completing his study, once he left it after his secondary school certificate in the year of 2006. Now he started again and shares his way of getting back to study, “I did not like school and study back then. So, my father sent me to learn automobile workshops. Now, I have an established business, but, I feel like finishing my study. I have experienced that academically educated people get more respect. So, I started my study in Economics in a private university. Though it’s a tough job to maintain regular class and business, I am enjoying it.”

“One of the main problems is bridging the generation gap. Sometimes they fail to maintain the huge pressure of study. Thereafter, as in distance learning there is a special use of technology, many students find that as a big challenge,” says Anwesha Mamtaz, Lecturer, Department of English, School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Language, Bangladesh Open University.

Often as a distant learner or as a professional trying to finish study after a break faces generation gap in the class room and turning on the study mood becomes another problem. Proper strategy would help you out from such situations. Here are some quirky guidelines to make your second start easier.

Stay focused and motivated

Blowing your enthusiasm to study after one week of admission would prove you wrong. Before, stepping to the university gate, be sure and lock your desire to finish your degree. Practise your study timely, nurture the habit of taking short notes, and do not procrastinate.

Avoid sitting on the bed with your books otherwise you shall eventually end up leaning, lying and finally snoring. Promise yourself to sit on the study table. Even the dining table shall serve the purpose. In short, create an environment which will energize you to study more and more.

Plan a balanced routine

Study can add a lot of stress regarding class time, group study, assignments and assessments. As you were away from this cycle for a long time, this would give you a sense of a difficult schedule. A balanced routine will guide you to walk the way patiently. So, at the very beginning of the semester make a balance routine to maintain the study cycle. A balance routine and work schedule will make your study easy.

But, before you make the routine, be careful of not making the schedule too tight, otherwise, it will be a fail again. Allow yourself to maintain a reasonable break in between your routine. And, try to avoid study related pressure through the semester break. Little breaks will make your life easier to maintain the routine again.

Arrange group study

Many a time having study break would create distance between you and the current students. Not only would this, with time curriculum changes. At present time, you would come across a new study method. This would break your heart but do not let this harm your study. There is always a solution — attend all the classes timely, talk to the teacher on your difficulties, and do not forget to take part on every group study.

Try to join in a group to study where other students are regular. In case you do not understand something or miss something, your group members will be always there to help you. If you miss a class someday, your group members will support you to recover that class.
